Stains
Just about any material has the potential for staining. For really stubborn ones, consider a non-abrasive household cleaner such as SimpleGreen® with its effective, earth-friendly ingredients.
Scratches & Burn Marks
Like most materials Treenu can be damaged by cutting the surface or placing a red-hot pan upon it. Cutting boards, hot pads and trivets are simple ways to avoid damage.
General Tips It is preferable if the installer refinishes the surface. Although a Scotch-Brite®* pad can help to refinish light scratches and burns. For more advice, contact your dealer or fabricator who installed the surface.
Avoid long periods of contact with raw meat juice and high-alkaline fruit or vegetables or soaps such as automatic dishwasher powder. Use a protective sheet when you are installing tile around countertop area as grout also has a high-alkaline content and could lighten the color of your surface.
To provide a polished finish that requires minimum care, fabricators should finish the Treenu surface with a non-oil-based sealant.
